About Annabel
Hi, I’m Annabel and I am passionate about acupuncture where I love to support people to feel their best.
My journey with acupuncture began after a cycling accident in London in 2005. While I initially sought treatment for physical healing, I found the treatment to have a profound effect on me emotionally and helped me reevaluate my direction in life. It was my first introduction to Five Element acupuncture and I am forever thankful for this unfortunate incident leading me to a career I truly love.
In 2009, I pursued my passion by studying at The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading (UK) where I learned both Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and have learned to blend the two styles of acupuncture into my practice.
After graduating in 2012 I ran busy clinics in West London and Surrey, and I was also part of the team at the prestigious London Acupuncture Clinic. However after 16 years in London and the long awaited birth of my daughter, it was time to come home to Adelaide and I haven’t looked back. Life is now a bit of a balancing act as I juggle work, mum life with a spirited toddler as well as trying to keep a bit of time for myself where I love practicing yoga, family time and being in nature.
My practice has evolved over the years as I have supported patients with a wide range of conditions, always focusing on the connection between the physical and emotional aspects of health.
I’m especially passionate about helping women and men on their path to parenthood, whether they are struggling to conceive naturally or are undergoing assisted reproduction (IVF, IUI and OI). Having gone through my own fertility struggles and IVF, I understand how emotionally challenging this journey can be.
I also love supporting women through all stages of pregnancy, birth preparation and their transition into motherhood, along with other women’s health issues.
Continuous learning is important to me, so I regularly take part in post-graduate training to stay updated and further my knowledge. I am also a registered AHPRA practitioner and a member of AACMA which provides me with the knowledge, skills and professional attributes needed to safely and competently practice Chinese Medicine in Australia.
