Annabel Hammer Acupuncture

Women's Health

Acupuncture can offer a wide range of benefits for women of all ages by helping restore the natural rhythms of the body and address hormonal imbalances. Acupuncture can also help alleviate stress, which can weaken the immune system and exacerbate several conditions. The aim is always to address the root cause and the symptoms, along with offering a complementary approach to conventional treatments.

For more stubborn gynecological conditions or recurrent infections, we can discuss introducing Chinese Herbs along with incorporating lifestyle and dietary changes to further to support healing.

MENSTRUAL HEALTH

I see far too many women in my clinic who think that menstrual discomforts and pain are just the norm. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. Acupuncture can offer a natural alternative to ease your painful periods and improve premenstrual tension (PMT) such as bloating, tender breasts and mood swings.

If you are experiencing problems with your flow such as excessively heavy, clotty or scanty/absent periods, acupuncture can help balance the flow by creating movement or dealing with any deficiencies present.

Women may already have a Western Medical Diagnosis such as Endometriosis, PCOS, Fibroids or Polyps and this will be taken into consideration.

MENOPAUSE AND PERIMENOPAUSE

Menopause and perimenopause is a significant life transition that can bring about uncomfortable symptoms such as hot flushes, low energy, anxiety, mood swings, sleep disturbances, exhaustion, brain fog, headaches, vaginal dryness or dryness in the body, low libido or bladder and bowel issues.

By addressing hormonal imbalances and promoting relaxation, acupuncture offers a natural approach to manage menopause-related discomfort both physical and emotional, supporting women through this transformative phase. I will also support women who are using hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in conjunction with acupuncture.

GENITAL URINARY FUNCTION & RECURRENT INFECTIONS

Acupuncture supports genital urinary function by stimulating specific points in the body which are believed to enhance the body’s immune response, stimulates the flow of Qi and blood circulation in the pelvic area, reducing pain and preventing recurrence of recurrent bladder infections such as cystitis, infections in the upper respiratory tract or recurrent infections such as candida by improving immune function and promoting the body’s ability to fight infections.
